Ambassador Benaoyagha Okoyen

Amb. Benaoyagha B. M. Okoyen

Amb. Benaoyagha is the Nigerian Ambassador to Cuba, with concurrent accreditation to Bahamas, Honduras and Nicaragua. Prior to his appointment, he was the Consul General of Nigeria in New York. He has served as as the protocol liaison officer (PLO) as well as the Special Assistant to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, positions he held since 2011.
Previously, Amb. Ben Okoyen also served as a protocol liaison officer to the Vice President of the federal republic of Nigeria from 2008 to 2010.

Earlier in service, Amb. Okoyen held a number of positions in Bayelsa state government, including the chief of protocol in government house from 2005 to 2007, and Head of Protocol to the Deputy Governor from 1999 to 2005.

As an Oxford University trained diplomat and the Protocol School of Washington, DC certified Corporate Etiquette and International protocol specialist, Mr. Okoyen is well positioned to set a clear direction for the consulate along with the experience team of officers to deliver the required result tor Nigeria.
